The School Districts of Brown County conduct a Child Find Service pursuant to state and federal law. This service is designed to locate special needs students, including homeless students and wards of the state, who are not in school or who, if in school, are not receiving special education services. These students range in age from birth through twenty-one years of age and are determined to have a cognitive disability (mental retardation), hearing impairment (including deafness), speech or language impairment, visually impairment (including blindness), serious emotional disturbance, orthopedic impairment, autism, traumatic brain injury, another health impairment, a specific learning disability, deaf-blindness, or multiple disabilities.
